And Let Preschool Begin............

Today was Hattie's First Day of Preschool. We did survive!! Only a few tears were shed today, which is a good thing. Not too many to make me look like a blubbering idiot, but just enough to show hesitancy of letting my little girl go. I can't believe she is old enough to head to school! And she is so ready. Here is how her day went.
The entire family loaded up. We were on an adventure to take Hattie to school. The past fews weeks have passed with much anticipation. A count down that envolved into a daily "is today the day" yet routine. This in turn was helping me get up the nerve to let my little girl "go". I was ready to walk her to her class and give her sweet goodbyes. However, upon arriving, Hattie showed the utmost courage and refused to have anyone but her teacher's aide walk her in. After much pleading, I conceeded. She is so very independant. Not only did we not get to walk her to her class, she took off in such an excited dash, there were no kisses or well wishes for her first day. And for this reason, there were a few tears. Now, I would love to say that they came from the eyes of Charlie, however, that would be untrue. They came from yours truly. But, there weren't as many as expected either. Our baby girl has become a little "strong minded" girl. For 3 hours, she was in the care of her teacher. Upon picking her up from school, she told me that she learned EVERYTHING today. She says her day went really good. She learned about bears and read a story about a bear that lost a button. A yellow one. And that is all she had to say about school. Oh, and that she didn't get to play very long in the sand box, because it was a long day.
After our long wait in the parent pick up line, we headed off to Sonic to get her a refreshing Ocean Water. There she told me that we were in a "Wait thru" restaurant. We finished our journey home and resumed life as usual. And on goes life. There will be a second, third and so on day, with its very own challenges. But for today, we made it through an introduction to Pre-K.

What the heck Amanda? I'm listed on your blog and I didn't even know it existed.

I'm so happy I found it (through Erin's of course), because now I will stalk it regularly! :)

Ha! Isn't it amazing that the first comment wasn't from me.

That sounds just like Hattie...nothing to hold her back.
